THOMPSON, Charles Eugene age 86 passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. Gene was born June 19, 1927 in Pitchin, OH to Floyd and Flora (Dugan) Thompson to a family of 11 children. On November 24, 1951 he married Alice Joan Hennigan, who passed on February 27, 2003. Together they had 3 daughters: Susan K. (Mike) Vuckovich of Englewood, Deborah A. (Randy) Robinson of Toledo and Pamela J. (Ben) Young of Yellow Springs. They were blessed with nine wonderful grandchildren: Kevin (Emma) Vuckovich, Sarah (Kevin) Coffee, Melissa (Brian) Woehrman, Julie (Martin) Weiser, Jesse (Katie) Young, Katie Young, Alicia, Aaron and Ashley Robinson and 7 great-grandchildren. Gene married Mildred Jackson on May 15, 2004 who survives him along with her children: Joyce Hoffman of Dayton, Gary (Pam) Jackson of Dayton, Don (Sherry) Jackson of MI and Marcia Barnet of KY. Gene was a dedicated farmer and an employee of Worthmore Homes and Don Thompson Excavating. He enjoyed cooking and baking bread for his family. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 4th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville. Burial will follow Mass at St. Paul's Cemetery in Yellow Springs. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or The American Heart Association.
