Geraldine “Gerri” Williams, age 88, of Dayton, Ohio - departed to Heaven on February 9, 2023, surrounded by family members at Hearth and Home Assisted Living in Vandalia, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest B. Williams Sr. and son, Ernest B. Williams Jr. Gerri graduated from Wilbur-Wright High School in 1953 and went on to raise four children with her dear husband until his passing. She retired in 1994 after working a long and rewarding career in logistics for the federal government. She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Droege and Terri Baker, son, Charles Williams and grandchildren, Karen Thompson, Stephanie Baker, Ashley Baker, Anthony Baker, Nathan Williams, Chris Williams, Jeremy Williams, and Shaun Williams, and multiple great grandchildren. Gerri adored spending time with her family and best friend of nearly 75 years, Carol Dugdale. Whether it was taking the long way to her favorite place in the world, Plain City, Ohio - or just driving to the local Cracker Barrel or Olive Garden - her heart was the fullest when she was surrounded by those she loved - all while enjoying a good meal and a “slug” of iced tea. Gerri adored spooky movies, being active with church, and creating nicknames for almost everyone she met. She lit up every room she walked into and never knew a stranger. That very light lives on in her beloved family who will be forever impacted by her kindness, wit, love and optimism. As Gerri always said, “the best is yet to come.” The family wants to thank Hearth and Home Assisted Living and ProMedica Hospice for their kindness and excellent care provided in her final days. Visitation will be on Feb. 21 from 10 AM- 12:00, with funeral services beginning at 12 PM at Westbrock Funeral Home, located at 1712 Wayne Avenue, Dayton, OH, 45410.
