Alfred August

AUGUST, ALFRED E., age 84 of Dayton passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Lou August; sister, Elizabeth August and brothers: Victor and Joseph. Alfred is survived by his beloved children: Elizabeth Juszczak, Michael (Angela), Christopher (Mary), Carol August Collins, Charlie August and Ann (Daniel) Jenks; grandchildren: Jessica, Sabrina, Veronica, Kirsten, Shelbi, Abigail, Troy, Erin, Anna and Samuel; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Reichert and cousins: Ted Sluzas and Eloise Berczelly. Alfred had 35 years of civil service before retiring from DESC, Kettering. He was an United States Army Veteran from 1947-1958 serving in Occupied Japan and Korean War. He was a member of The Knights of Lithuania, Amvets, VFW and The Polish Club. Alfred attended Kiser High School and St. Adalbert Parish. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, Reds and UD Flyer Basketball. Visitation will be held Friday, April 26th (TODAY) from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27th at Holy Cross Church, 1924 Leo Street, Dayton.
