PUJIA, Antonio of Kettering, OH passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on April 20, 2023. Born on the 22nd of July 1943 in Filadelfia, Italy, Antonio always stayed true to his roots. He was passionate about his cooking, bringing over his Calabrian recipes learned from his mother. He sourced the best ingredients for every dish, making sure that he communicated his love through his food. He also enjoyed listening to Classical Italian music. From operas to Andrea Bocelli, there was never a Sunday that passed without music. Antonio filled his life with old-world sensibilities and new technology. Before the internet, he learned how to use manual short-wave radios to keep up with Italian news. Decades later, found himself learning how to rebuild computers, piece by piece. Also, he appreciated filming family videos and handheld camcorders to make sure we would have memories to look back on. He chose to retire in Kettering, Ohio to spend his golden years with his siblings.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Angela Soldano, Francesco Pujia, and his daughter. He is survived by his wife, Margarita Pujia, 3 children, 2 stepchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:15am - 10:15am at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road in Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am at the Church of the Ascension in Kettering. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
