Audrey Marn, age 84, passed away comfortably in her sleep in the early morning hours March 27, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, with her youngest daughter, Michelle, present at her side; loving daughter and the best home-care nurse anyone could ask for.

Born on December 19, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, Audrey lived a life defined by unwavering positivity, deep faith, and boundless love for her family. A daughter of a proud first-generation Slovenian Immigrant parents. She handed down many Slovenian traditions that were so important to her, and they will live on forever.

Audrey was the beloved wife of the late Phillip James Marn and the devoted mother of Denise M. MacLaren; Phillip J. Marn Jr and his wife Anne Marie; and Michelle A. Pender and her husband Kevin. She was a cherished grandmother to Danielle Havlicek and her husband Andy; Krista Dunham and her husband Jeremy; Michael Marn; Nicholas Marn; Molly Marn; Emily Pender; and Ashley Pender. Audrey also took great joy in being a proud great-grandmother to Ava Dunham and Jackson Dunham.

Audrey survived her parents, Mary and John Gliha, and was the survivor and the youngest of her three siblings, her oldest sister Mitzi Kerka (h. Frank), their two children, Frankie Kerka and Judy Salmon; her sister, Joanie Mayes (h. Roy), and four children, Marie Kunzman, Kenny Forman, Bobby Forman, and Karen Kroning; and her younger brother, Johnny Gliha (w. Rochetta) and three children Johnny Gliha, Joey Gliha, and Kevin Gliha.

Audrey is remembered with love by a large extended family of sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Audrey’s life centered around her family—her greatest pride and joy. Her career was not found in an office or title but in the home, she built with love. She poured herself into caring for those around her, especially through cooking meals that brought everyone together. She loved walking and hiking outdoors, shopping, and engaging in spirited games of Bridge, Euchre, or Rummy, dancing and singing at the top of her lungs.

A woman of deep faith, Audrey was known as the family’s prayer warrior. Whether someone was facing hardship or simply misplaced their keys, she offered prayers with sincerity and hope. Her outlook on life was unfailingly positive, there was always a silver lining to be found in any situation.

She was a light in our lives, and she always will be. Only now, she is shining down from Heaven. She will be greatly missed by all.
