Islam, Badrul age 86 of Centerville, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018. Badrul was born in Raniganj, India on June 1, 1932. He graduated from Calcutta National Medical College and moved to London, England in 1959. He practiced general surgery for 15 years, where he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in both London and Edinburgh.
Badrul and his wife, Sylvia, moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1974 where he practiced general surgery at Good Samaritan and St. Elizabeth Hospitals until his retirement in 2001.
Badrul’s love and devotion to his family and friends was unparalleled. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his loved ones and watching the sunset over Marco Island with a sniffer of Remy Marten in his hand.
He is survived by his devoted wife Sylvia, sons Andrew (Elizabeth) of Cincinnati, and Richard of Centerville, beloved granddaughters Isabel Katherine and Sophie Grace, a sister, Shaheeda and brother, Saiful, as well as many nephews and nieces in India, the United Kingdom and the USA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am Monday, August 20 at Church of the Incarnation. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until time of Mass at the church. Burial, Calvary Cemetery.
