Butler, Barbara Ohmer, age 89 of Centerville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Bethany Village. She was born May 14, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio to Frederick and Hortense (Palm) Ohmer. Barbara was a 1943 graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Cincinnati, an honorary graduate of the Julienne High School class of 1943 in Dayton, and attended the University of Dayton. Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Diane Butler-Hughes and Dave Hughes of Bellbrook, Ohio; children, Pamela, Mark, Janet, Julia and Karen; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Marti Ohmer; nieces, Debbie (Rick) Lepley, Missy (Tim) Everman and Angela (Dan) Dunaway; nephew, Rick (Cheri) Ohmer; 10 grandchildren; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. The family wishes to thank all those who lovingly cared for Barbara in the memory care unit at Bethany Village and for the compassionate care provided by Hospice of Dayton. She will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 19 at The Church of St. Charles Borromeo, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering. The family will receive friends before Mass on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Alzheimer's Association/Miami Valley Chapter or The Noble Circle Project. Envelopes will be available at the church.
