Betty L. Jewell

JEWELL (nee PHILLIPPI), BETTY L., age 79 passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Crestview Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Danny C. Jewell and parents: William and Edith Phillippi. Betty is survived by her daughter, Kim (Dale) Gemin; son, Kenneth (Julie Cochran) Jewell; grandchildren: Chad (Stacey) Gemin, Stacee (John) Holtzmuller, Kelly (John) Hackitt, Kyle Jewell (Amber Myers), Elizabeth (Jordan) Tackett and Tim Cochran; great-grandchildren: Bailey Strack, Madelyn, Mason and Marin Hackitt, Ryan Holtzmuller and Gavin Gemin; sisters: Doris Oiler, Charlotte Gerhardt and Diana (Tom) Bruce; brother, Doug Phillippi and many loving nieces and nephews. Betty was a 1951 graduate of Stivers High School. She worked for Dayton Tire and Rubber, Dayco and Beavercreek City Schools. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff and residents at Crestview Manor for all of their love and care they gave to Betty. Also a special thanks to Hospice of Dayton. Visitation will be Monday, April 29th from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton followed by a Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the charity of your choice.
