Bill W. Thompson

Bill W. Thompson, a beloved man whose warmth and humor touched countless lives, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, at The Patterson of Beavercreek. He was born on January 5, 1945, in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Robert and Voda (Sutton) Thompson.

An alumnus of Middletown Monroe High School, graduating in 1963, Bill furthered his education at Sinclair Community College, where he earned an associate's degree. Bill dedicated a substantial portion of his life to a career in security, working as a police officer in Middletown, and then Kettering, before retiring as the Director of Security from Fifth Third Bank. His professional journey was marked by a commitment to safety, culminating in proud moments spent as a public speaker for security training, sharing his expertise and insights with others.

A quintessential storyteller, Bill was known for his knack for dad jokes, always bringing laughter and a smile to those fortunate enough to be in his presence. He had a passion for classic cars, relishing in the beauty of these timeless machines, which offered him both joy and a sense of nostalgia.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Marylou, James, Glessie, Ruby and Bobby.  His legacy continues in the hearts of his beloved family, including his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Ora (Brewer), and his children: Michelle (Mike) Ward, Chris (Lisa) Thompson, and Jon (Larissa) Thompson. The bonds of love extend to his grandchildren, Daniel, Noah, Hannah, Jake, Kaylie, Evan and Ben. He is also survived by nephews Chris (Pam) and John Thompson, who held a special place in his heart.
