HOLZFASTER, Byron E. passed away peacefully at his home in Dayton, Ohio, on Sunday April 27, 2014, at the age of 98. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 24, 1915, to Alta and Aldon Holzfaster; and he was a life long resident of Dayton. Byron graduated from Roosevelt High School, Ohio University; and he received his Law Degree in 1940 from University of Cincinnati Law School. He began his lengthy and successful legal career in Dayton, Ohio, and founded the law firm which continues today as Holzfaster, Cecil, McKnight & Mues. Beloved by all, Byron will be greatly missed. Byron is survived by his loving wife, Marion Holzfaster; his son, Craig A. Holzfaster, of Scottsdale, Arizona; his granddaughter, Heidi Kostin (Konstantin) of Rochester, Massachusetts; two great grandchildren, Addison and Christopher Kostin; Marion Holzfaster's sons, Stuart Barker of Kettering, Ohio, and Spencer Barker of Stockton, California; great niece, Ellen McKinley of LasVegas, Nevada; and great nephew, Brent (Samantha) McKinley of Dayton, Ohio. Byron was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Holzfaster; his wife, Marilyn Holzfaster; his sister, Alvah Shock; his niece, Marilyn McKinley; and nephew, Larry McKinley. The family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton and The Salvation Army in lieu of flowers. The funeral service will be held at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton, Ohio, on Wednesday, April 30, at 11:00 a.m.
