Our sweet momma Carol “Jean” Randall went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 4th. She was born to Virginia Harris and Harry Davis on June 9th, 1940. She is survived by her children Susan, Jimmy, and Barbara, Dean (Peggy), Pam, and Kim. She leaves her twin sister June Miller, and sister Ramona Cooley, and lifelong friends Georgiana Johnson and Tim Parkey.
Jean was grandmother to 14 blended grandchildren, Angela, (John), Joshua
(Amanda), Nathan (Tosha), Isaac (Angie), Delana (Bill), Jake(Amanda), & Paul (Elyse), John, (Teresa), Brooke (Nathan), Mark (Cassie), Ricky, Kelly, Christina & Kayla. She also had a million or so great & great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Grandma always remembered everyone’s names and birthdays and diligently sent cards to each one every year to acknowledge their day, making them all part of the $10 club.
She was preceded in death by her spouse of 35 years Dane Jolly of Dayton, her son in laws Ron Kell & Denny Smith, her parents, 6 sisters, 6 brothers, and several nieces & nephews.
As young mothers Jean and friend Georgiana worked cleaning homes, returning home early to see the kids off to school. Later in life she worked as a nurse’s aide for over 30 years, caring for patients with love and respect, always committing to the most challenging cases with compassion and empathy.
All her skills working and homemaking reflected in the way she cared for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout her life until the very last day.
In retirement she managed Miami Valley Escort Service with her late spouse until they retired the business.
Thank you to the nurses of the Grandview SICU for being simply wonderful.
Thank you to the Rehab Unit at the Widows Home for being compassionate, especially to Kara.
