FLOYD, Catherine Bierman (Cay), of Dayton, Ohio, age 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 26, 2011, surrounded by her family at Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alesondra and Dmitri Tsilibonoff of Macedonia, her adoptive parents, Harry and Josephine Bierman, and her brother, Van Johnson. She leaves behind her daughters, Janyne Nienhaus and Rochelle Fields, sister, Elizabeth Stone, step-sister, Mary Louise Brown, the Stockert family, and numerous relatives and friends. She was a devoted Nana to her grandchildren: Paul (Lisha) Nienhaus, Annetta (Brandon) Major and Alesondra (Aaron) Bledsoe, and her beloved great-grandchildren: Connor, Grant, Aubrey, Owen and Jacob. Born on June 23, 1923, Cay graduated from Julienne High School in 1940, and through the years, she worked at several aerospace companies in and around Wright Patterson Air Force Base, as well as at Grandview Hospital. Always proud of her Macedonian heritage, she was member of the Macedonian Patriotic Organization and the South Slavic Club of Dayton, supporting the Macedonian community with her enthusiasm and love for dancing, history and reclaiming her roots. Her finest traits were making friends feel like family and making all family her priority. She was always thinking of others, going out of her way to provide love, comfort and lasting memories, and her handprint on our hearts will remain forever. Visitation will be Sunday, July 31st from 2:00 – 5:00 at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue, Dayton, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 820 Bowen Street, Dayton; burial following at Calvary Cemetery, Moraine. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue.
