PENCHOFF, Charles Michael, 65 of Kettering, Charleston SC and the “open road” passed away at Hospice of Dayton on July 26, 2017 after a brief illness. Chuck was born in Middletown CT and grew up to be a U.S Marine, college student (UCONN), air-traffic controller, adventurer and raconteur as well as a loving husband, father and valued friend. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Penchoff and sister, Kathleen Pelletier. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Pamela Penchoff; daughters, Stephanie Smith, Chelsea and Hayley Penchoff; grandsons, Connor and Caiden Smith; brothers, Jack (Karen) Penchoff and David (Debbie) Penchoff plus numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and devoted friends. Chuck was a fun-loving and all around good guy who will be missed by everyone who knew him. Chuck will be laid to rest in the St. Kateri Nature Preserve at Calvary Cemetery. There will be no service but there will be a Celebration of Life gathering in mid-September; time and place TBD.
