Penwell, Charles M., age 87 of Dayton passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016. He was born on February 9, 1929 to the late, Ralph and Della (Copeland) Penwell. Also preceding him in death is a brother, Harold and nephews, Russell Jr. and Jeffrey Penwell. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Millie (Jones) Penwell; children, Cheryl (Bruce) Maier, Larry (Bonnie Green) Penwell; grandchildren, Justine (Jason) Beecher, Christian Green, Rachel Green; great-grandson, Sebastian Beecher brother, Lloyd Penwell and several nieces and nephews. Charlie worked as a mechanic and retired from GM after 25 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping and watching the Cincinnati Reds play. Friends and family may visit from 12-2pm on Monday, April 25 at the Westbrock Funeral Home, Bigger Rd followed by a funeral service at 2pm. Charlie will be laid to rest in David’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tridia Hospice, 329 N. Broad St. Fairborn, Ohio 45324, in memory of Charlie.
