Smith, Clinton D., 51, of Carlisle, OH., was delivered from 21 yrs of illness on 12/30/13. He entered into rest with his Saviour to be free from pain and illness evermore. Clint is survived by his wife, Lois (Rogers) Smith (formerly of Cleve., OH.) and his son, Chadwycke R. Smith of Louisville, KY., Brothers Drew Smith, of Conway, S.C.; John Smith (wife Betty) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Robert Slack (wife Kimberly) of Springboro, OH., Steven (Douglas) Lowe (wife Debbie), of Katy, Texas, and his sister Barbara Houseman of Beavercreek, OH., 20 nieces and nephews, and 16 great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Richard B. and Lillie G. Smith of Englewood, OH.Clint graduated with honors from Northmont High School in 1981 where he excelled and won several Oratorical awards. He attended Wright State University and graduated from the Commonwealth College of Mortuary Sciences in 1983 where he obtained his Funeral Director and Embalmers license for Texas, and later Insurance licensure for Pre-Planned funerals. He was employed in funeral homes in Whitley Co., Kentucky, Dayton, OH., and in Houston, Tx., for 7 years. Clint retired from the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office after 16 years as a supervisor. Clint began learning piano at age 7. The Lord chose Clint for a ministry playing piano with the Dayton Ambassadors when he was 15 and he served the Lord with his music for 35 years. Clint was also used by the Lord in his home churches of Northridge Freewill Baptist Church, Victory Hill Baptist Church, and Miamisburg Assembly of God. Many lifelong friendships were developed by Clint in his ministry to include his 30 year marriage. Clint was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and handyman. He spent the last years of his life enjoying his music, and curating his cardinal collectibles. Friends may call for visitation at the Westbrock Funeral Home at 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering, OH., On Friday, January 3 ,2013, during the hours of 4-8pm. The celebration of Clint’s life will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday January 4, 2013 at Miamisburg Assembly of God at 501 Ninth Street, Miamisburg, OH., Interment to follow at Highland Cemetery on Rt 725 (723 Upper Miamisburg Rd) Miamisburg, OH.
