Dane Gilbert

Dane A Gilbert, age 54, passed away on September 28, 2024.

Dane was born in Dayton, OH to the late Benjamin Gilbert and Kathryn Gilbert. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Alice (Suzy) Zimmer. He is survived by his sister Lori (Marcus) Petitjean, sister Pamela (Christopher) Marx, brother Derek Gilbert, nephew Jacob (Stephanie) Zimmer, niece Anna (Keith) Gould and BFAM, Kelsey Grillot.

For the family and friends who helped keep watch with Dane at Hospice, Tim and Beth Zimmer, Tina Robertson, the Grillot family and all who sent encouraging words to Dane for us to read. We read each one to him and it brought such comfort.

The Family would also like to thank so many people that helped reunite Dane to us. Ami and Benny, for being there when we couldn't.

To the ICU staff at Kindred hospital who treated and LOVED Dane like he was their own family, we will NEVER be able to repay you for how you LOVED AND cared for him. And the staff at Hospice. Thank you.

A visitation will be held on Friday October 4, from 9-10 am at St Joseph Catholic Church, 411 East Second St. Dayton, OH 45402. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10am and then burial at Calvary Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers please help The house of bread, St Vincents homeless shelter or purchase some warm socks, toiletries for someone on the streets. Or just pay for someones groceries/food. I'm sure you get the picture, we are all part of a bigger family and we need to be gentle with each other. Much Love from the family of Dane Gilbert.
