WOURMS, DIANE A., age 59, of Beavercreek passed away on August 23, 2011 at 12 PM at her residence after a courageous battle with brain cancer. A graduate of Carroll High School and The University of Dayton, known for her diagramming lessons, her wit and her sarcasm, Diane completed a 36 year love affair as a teacher of English at Carroll High School. She was born on November 15, 1951 and was preceded in death by her father, Fred Wourms and her older brother, Bob Wourms. She is survived by her beloved mother, Helen Lokai, her stepfather, Martin Lokai, four brothers: Bill Wourms and wife Ana Pan of Alameda, California, Larry Wourms and wife Tammy of Evansville, Wisconsin, Jerry Wourms and wife Debbie of Williamsburg, Indiana and Paul Wourms and wife Lara of Australia. She is also survived by seven sisters: Connie and Pete Buchert of Casstown, Ohio, Margery and Clay Waggood of Anchorage, Alaska, Kathy Rogers of Dayton, Sue and Jim Harrison of New Lebanon, Jane and Clay Runck of Dacula, Georgia, Barb and Bob Kelley of Columbus, Ohio and Deborah Bischof of Kettering. She is survived by 36 nieces and nephews and 28 grand nieces and grand nephews. Diane is also survived by her close friends of 41 years, Lynne and Jim Hemmert and their five children and 17 grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 25th (TODAY) from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 26th at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
