Douglas John Brooker

Douglas John Brooker
Age 60 of Springboro, Ohio passed away suddenly on June 2nd, 2016 in Denver Colorado while on vacation with his loving family.
He was born August 19, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Dorothy L. and William R. Brooker. He was the CEO and co-owner of Toney Tool & Die Manufacturing; where he devoted many hours of hard work and dedication. Doug was a driving force in the employment of hundreds of people over many years.
Doug is survived by the love of his life; Vicky, and the “Apple of his Eye,” Jackie (Tyler). Doug was also fortunate to have a very special relationship with his adopted son, Michael Ormond. Doug is also survived by one sister, Kay (Dan), three brothers: Jim, (Michelle), Dan (Ann) and Dave Brooker(Peggy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His In-laws were: Jim and Gwen Tonar, Edward Huff (Mary), Business partners, Walt and Debbie Toney.
Doug was an excellent golfer and continued to nurture many friendships on the course including those from high school, his neighborhood, and professional associations; all while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. He graduated from Fairmont West High School and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
His family was most important to him. He very generously hosted many cookouts and holidays. His nieces and nephews would say he set the bar high for Christmas giving and sweet surprises. He looked forward to retiring with his wife of 36 years to be near their children in Colorado. His dog Lola followed him around loyally and seems quite lost without him.
Walking for fitness was part of Doug’s routine, and he found various indoor places to walk during bad weather.
Doug saw much of the world with Vicky; they took great vacations in Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico and the United States. Hiking, scuba diving, golfing, reading and relaxing were all ways Doug truly enjoyed living life.
