Douglas John Osterfeld

OSTERFELD, Douglas John Douglas John Osterfeld passed away at his home in Kettering on Friday, November 6, 2014 at the age of 62. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Henry and his niece, Molly Draugelis. Doug is lovingly remembered by his mother Millie of Kettering; brother Dave (Heather) of Charleston, SC, sister Laura (Sid) Juliani of Cincinnati; sister Leslie (Dennis) Weber of Portland, OR, sister Amy Draugelis of Kettering and brother Tim of Cincinnati. In addition to being a wonderful son and brother, Doug was also a loving and supportive uncle to nieces Maggie and Kate Juliani and nephews Will, Matt and A.J. Draugelis. Doug will be missed by many, including all of the friends he made from childhood throughout his adult life. Doug was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1952. He graduated from Alter High School in 1970 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Ohio University in 1974. For most of his professional career, he worked in Purchasing at The H.J. Osterfeld Company, founded by his grandfather, Henry Sr. Doug enjoyed sports, especially baseball, as well as being an avid supporter of his alma mater, Ohio University. Doug also enjoyed playing the stock market, reading and being involved with his nieces and nephews sporting activities. Among one of his favorite traditions was hanging out with his buddies on Friday at a local watering hole enjoying some food and beverage. The visitation and funeral will be held at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Avenue, Kettering, OH 45429, on November 11, 2014. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., followed by a Mass at noon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
