HERRMAN, EDGAR ALEXANDER, JR., passed away October 7, 2012. His parents were Edgar Sr. and Velma Conover Herrman. He is survived by his dear and loving wife, Evie, her three children: Nancy, Jack and Sara Lee. His son Robert Edgar and wife, Kathy and daughter Gaye; two grandsons: Curt and Cory and three great-grandsons: Anders, Coleman and Weber. Edgar attended Oakwood Schools K-12 and graduated in 1939. He went to Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania and enlisted in USAAF in July 1942 as a cadet. Edgar graduated from Hondo Texas Navigation School as a first lieutenant, was retained as a Navigation Instructor and later assigned to B24 Crew. After World War II he returned to Dayton and joined NCR sales followed by two other National Sales Organizations and finally settling in Des Moines, Iowa as President and owner of a dealership representing Sharp Office Products. Upon retiring he and his wife returned to Dayton. He was on the Oakwood Alumni Board and belonged to four historical societies. His research rewarded him with six First Families in Dayton and three in Sugarcreek Twp. He enjoyed giving talks to various groups on genealogy. He was a walking talking history book. He loved his special dogs, Buzz and Abbie who were given by two exceptional friends. Edgar was a very special person, a true friend and a great neighbor. A most wonderful husband will be missed immensely. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors and Kettering Medical Center and Hospice of Dayton for their wonderful care given to Edgar. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10th at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum.
