Biersack, Edward J., age 91 of Beavercreek, passed away January 10. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 14, 1924, to the late Alphonse and Marie Biersack. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joe and one sister Rosemary. Ed’s wife Norma passed away in February of 2015. They had celebrated over 68 years of marriage. He is survived by 2 daughters, Kathleen(John) Brombacher of Jackson, MS, Mary Ann DeBlanc of Bay St. Louis, MS, and 3 sons, Jerry(Tess) Biersack of Beavercreek, OH , Joe(Margaret) Biersack of Grand Rapids, MI. and Paul(Ann) Biersack of Phoenix, AZ. Ed and Norma also had 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Ed and Norma both were so proud of all their family. Ed graduated from Dayton Chaminade in 1942. Shortly after graduating he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and became a navigator on the B-29. He worked for GM’s Delco Products for over 42 years. He loved baseball, bowling and golf, and later became an avid woodworker. He and his wife thoroughly enjoyed the St. Luke Leisure Club. The family will receive friends on Friday January 15 from 5 -7 at The Westbrock Funeral Home at 5980 Bigger Rd. in Kettering. There will also be a short prayer service on Saturday morning at the funeral home at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Luke Catholic Church on Fairfield Rd. in Beavercreek at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 16. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Luke Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice in Edward’s name.
