Brun, Edward L., age 89, of Centerville, passed away peacefully at home on July 12th, surrounded by his daughter Leslie, niece Sherri, and other loving family. The last words he spoke as he slipped in and out of consciousness were: "I am in the most beautiful world. It is more amazing than anything I could have ever imagined". Mr. Brun was a graduate of The Ohio State University and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed a long career as a commercial artist living in Columbus and Midland Michigan. A man of great talent, he composed beautiful pieces of music, sculpture and the written word. He was preceded in death by his beloved companion, Florence "Corky" Scott, and six brothers, Lawrence, Jerome, Clarence, Charles, Walter and William Brun. He is survived by a daughter, Leslie Balcombe, of England; two grandchildren, Rowina (Thomas) Seidler, and Laurence (Stephanie) Balcombe, and three great-grandchildren, Reuben, Seth and Elianna; a sister, Rita Heider; two brothers, Raymond and George Brun; three sisters-in-law, Barbara, Ella, and Lois Brun; his two nieces Sherri and Chrissie who helped to care for him, and numerous other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 21 at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton, The Hospice of the Miami Valley, or to Bethany Lutheran Village.
