Arvin, Eileen A., age 100, of Dayton passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015. She was born in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Bernadette and Ralph Burch. She worked at Rike’s Department Store downtown for over 20 years and was a member of the Assumption Church Altar Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Dayton Catholic Women’s Club, and a volunteer at Assumption Food Pantry. She was devoted to her family, church, and UD basketball.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin V. Arvin, siblings: Mildred Nalin (Pat), Rafe Burch (June), Donald Burch (Berniece), George Burch (Pauline), Ed Burch (Mary Alice), Mary Helen Arvin. Survived by: daughter Linda Skuns (George), brother-in-law Norbert Arvin, sister-in-law Marilyn Arvin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation Sunday, November 22, 2015, 2-5 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, Wayne Avenue. Funeral Mass on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 533 Odlin Avenue followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Assumption Food Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul, or Hospice of Dayton.
