SLUZAS, Elinor D. age 86, of Dayton, passed away Friday September 5, 2014. Elinor was a life-long member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Kiser High School, class of 1946. She was also a life-long member of the Knights of Lithuania, where she was awarded their highest recognition of Honorary Member. Elinor was retired from Yeck Brothers Company and was the past owner of Elinor's Amber Rose Restaurant in Dayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Anna Ambrose, and her sister, Mary Ann (Ambrose) Blum. She is survived by her son, Rev. Anthony Sluzas and his wife Debra, along with their children, Katrina and Jacob; her daughter, Annamarie Berger and her husband Mark, along with their son, Joseph; two sisters, Rose Ann Fletcher and Rita Ambrose; a brother, Frank Ambrose; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Tuesday at Holy Cross Church, preceded by a prayer service at 9:30am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Acclaim Hospice. Elinor touched many lives through all of her involvement in the Dayton Community during her lifetime.
