Elizabeth "Betty" Zimmer

ZIMMER, Elizabeth "Betty" age 93, of Kettering, died Monday, April 14, 2014. She was born on February 27, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio to Mae A. and Edwin J. Leen. Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul R. Zimmer. She is survived by her three sons: Paul E. (Maggie) of Kettering, Mark E. of Panama City Beach, Florida and Jeffry R. (Patty) of Kettering and twelve grandchildren: Megan Deeley, Kathleen Kloska, Paul J. Zimmer, Maureen Guziec, Ann-Marie Schmitz, Adam Zimmer, Jennifer Holly, Matthew Zimmer, J. Shane Zimmer, Brandon Zimmer, Patrick Zimmer and Carson Zimmer plus 23 great-grandchildren. Betty was a graduate of Fairview High School and was a long time member of Walnut Grove Country Club. She enjoyed golfing and bowling with her husband Paul in various leagues. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale of Oakwood for the great care they gave to Betty over the last few years at their assisted living center. She enjoyed playing gin rummy with her friends at Brookdale. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 17th at Alter High School Chapel, 940 E. David Rd, Kettering, OH with Fr. Jim Manning officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Alter High School lobby. Please park behind Alter High School and you will be directed to the lobby through the back entrance of the school. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Alter High School
