Wellmeier, Elton R., Sr., age 95 of Dayton passed away Thursday November 12, 2015. Elton began his career as a Dr. of Chiropractic Medicine. After realizing this was not his calling, he worked at NCR for 24 years, Hobart for 5 years and Main Hardware for 6 years. He was also in the Army, and was one of the Company “E” – 18th Engineers during the construction of the Alaska Military Highway. Elton was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mae in 2002 and a brother, William. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Dale) Hart of Kettering; a son, Elton Wellmeier Jr. of Kettering; grandchildren, David (Elizabeth) Hart, Beth (Jake) Wise; two great grandchildren, Austin and Kyle Hart. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am Tuesday November 17 at Our Lady of Mercy Church. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. Burial, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Alzheimer’s Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
