Ernest Ruef

Ruef, Ernest J., "Ernie" age 87 of Dayton, passed away Friday December 24, 2010. Ernie was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from the Dayton Fire Department in 1977. He was preceded in death by his wife Madonna in 2004; a son, Gerard; three sisters, Ida Auer, Regina Ruef, Hedwig Sailer; six brothers, Joseph, Max, Herman, John, Louie and Nicholas. Ernie is survived by his children, Dan and Marj of Dayton, Patricia "Trish" and her husband, Richard Baucher of Celina, Don and Dina of Gilbert, Arizona, Karen and friend, John of Dayton, and Jerry and Debbie of Dayton; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Hilda Probst of Dayton, Betty Carder of Wilmington, OH; two sisters-in-law, Marie Ruef of Dayton and Janet Ruef of Kettering; a brother-in-law, Ferdinand "Bud" Fahrig of Dayton, numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM Tuesday December 28 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, 2300 S. Smithville Rd., Rev. Raymond Leurck officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to the I.C. Education Fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
