O’Dell, Forest E., age 85 of Washington Twp., passed away peacefully at his residence on May 18, 2011. He was born in Camden, OH on June 6, 1925 to Grace and Ray O’Dell, both of whom preceded him in death. Forest graduated from Preble Shawnee High School, and attended Miami University with a major in Business. He served in the United States Air Force and he retired from NCR after 40 years as an Executive Vice President. He resided many years in Brookville and Centerville, OH. He was an avid sports fan, having been recruited by the Reds farm team as a pitcher, and bowled numerous 300 games. Forest is survived by his loving wife, Ruth M. O’Dell; his adoring daughter, Christina J. Catrwright (Bob Foley) of Sugarcreek Twp.; a son, Gary R. O’Dell of Eaton, OH; a stepdaughter, Diana Dodge and her daughter Ellie of Jacksonville, FL; stepson, Gary Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Don O’Dell (Donna) of Camden, OH; numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved malti-poo, Bridgett. Private services will be held by the family in care of Westbrock Funeral Home, Bigger Rd., Kettering. Interment shall be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 or the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton, OH 45417. Forests wonderful sense of humor and love of sports, animals and family will be sorely missed by all who so dearly loved him.
