Francis E. "Frank" Gebhart

GEBHART, Francis E. “Frank”, age 96 of Centerville passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on October 3, 1920 in Dayton to the late, Gilbert L. and Mary T. (Schneider) Gebhart. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Jill Claire (Hawker) Gebhart, as well as his five (5) brothers and sisters, Viola, Ruth, Ida, Norman and Alban. Frank is survived by sons, Mark Edward and Jodi (Train) Gebhart of Miamisburg and Michael Everett and Jennifer (Converse) Gebhart of Centerville; grandchildren, Madison Joy, Jonathan Eric and Jackson Michael Gebhart and Matthew Francis Gebhart. He was a graduate of Kiser High School in Dayton and served his country in WWII by enlisting in the 9th Army Air Force 19th Repair Squadron from 1942-1946 in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and France. After WWII, he worked at Bental Brothers Jewelers in Hamilton, OH and then established the Gift Fair in the Belmont area of Dayton, OH and later became the President of the F.W. Lotz Paper and Fixture Company of Dayton. Frank has been a member of Church of the Incarnation Parish. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date. Frank and Jill loved Gatlinburg, TN and wish to have their ashes interred there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Dayton or the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council (TUFC) at P.O. Box 58443 Nashville, TN 37205, to help in rebuilding Gatlinburg’s Forests.
