Garnett Haley, is laid to rest alongside his beloved family members, Dorothy Louise Smith (mother), Corwin L. Smith (step father), Linta May Miller (grandmother), Roland B. Miller (grandfather) and his wife, Brenda E. Haley.
He began his career as a land surveyor in 1966, then moved into construction industry as a field engineer for over 30 years. His above average mathematical aptitude helped him with his successful careers in various locations nation wide. After his stepfather passed away in 1992, he moved back to Dayton, also his place of birth, to care of his mother until her passing in 1998 and has been a resident of Dayton ever since. During his remaining life he established a successful lawncare business helping the elderly in the Dayton area for several years until his retirement in 2014.
He is survived by Douglas P. Haley (son), Dawn F. Haley, (daughter), Darrin M. Haley (son), Dylan P. Haley (grandson), and Dwight Haley (nephew).
He loved his cats Woody, Casper, Alex, Reuben, and Bob.
