Gene Schoonover

The family of Clarence Eugene Schoonover, best known as Gene, of Miamisburg Ohio, is saddened to announce his passing on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the age of 73 years.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence "Crip" and Margaret Schoonover, brother Jerry Schoonover and sister JoAnne Hatcher. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois Ann Schoonover, Daughter Teresa (Donnie) Russell, Grandchildren Taylor and Dylan Russell, Sister Joyce Steinmetz, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gene was a proud Navy Veteran with a passion for motorcycles and traveling. He was an extraordinary support and provider for his family. His gift for sharp whit and humor, generosity and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday March 8, 2025 from 2-4pm at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd., Kettering, OH with a brief Celebration of Life Service including Military Honors beginning at 4pm. Burial will be private for the family at the Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
