JOHNSON, Gerald C. age 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday December 30, 2010. He was born May 3, 1927 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Gerald C. and Hazel Johnson Sr. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian M. Johnson. Following graduation from Kiser High School, he joined the Navy and served in WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Johnson worked for NCR for 29 years and retired from General Motors after 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine; 10 children: Danny, James (Edye), Debra (Charles) Little, Michael, Gerald II, Patrick, Joel, Janet, Christopher, and Janel. He also leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren who loved and adored him. He leaves behind a special aunt, Jean, along with several other aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry's true treasure in his life was his wife Josie, and at the end of his "rainbow" he found comfort in her loving arms. Friends and family may visit Westbrock Funeral Home on Wayne Ave in Dayton, OH on Tuesday January 4, 2011 from 5-8 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial, 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 5 at St. Anthony Church, preceded by a prayer service 9:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony Church and/or Hospice of Dayton. A special thank you to Pam, Jackie, and RuthAnn from Hospice for their excellent care and expertise. Mr. Johnson also was cared for by two sons, Gerald and Joel and his daughter Janel on a daily basis for many years. For this the entire family will be eternally grateful.
