Gertrude Lommerse

Lommerse, Gertrude, age 96, born in Amsterdam, Netherlands (Holland), a resident of St. Leonard Center, passed away Saturday May 11, 2013. Gertrude was a lifelong member of the Holland of America Club; a charter member of St. Charles Borromeo Church; a member of the Leisure Club, the KSSC and the Young at Heart Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lommerse & Maria A. (LeFeber); her step-father, Albert Toepoel; two brothers, Frank Lommerse and Cornelius (Martha) Toepoel; and two nephews, Stephen and Albert Toepeol. Gertrude is survived by her sister, Liny Lommerse; a niece, Maria McGinnis; two great-nieces, Stephanie Black and Jennifer Mitchel; several other nieces and nephews in Canada; and several very good friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am Thursday at St. Leonard Center Chapel. Fr. Ken Baker will be officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
