HOEFLER C.L.U., G.L. "MATT", age 79, passed away, Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Sycamore Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Loyola Hoefler. Matt is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy (Kramer) of 29 years, daughter, Kim & son-in-law, George Bratz, son, Marc & daughter-in-law, Katie, son, Brian Schneider & daughter-in-law, Gretchen, son, Kirk, daughter, Michelle, son, Eric & daughter-in-law, Lisa and 10 grandchildren. Matt was an insurance salesman starting in the insurance business in 1954 with New York Life and later forming his own agency Hoefler Associates retiring in 1995. He was a former life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, member of Dayton Association of Life Underwriters and past president of Dayton Chapter of Chartered Life Underwriters. He was a graduate of the class of 1948 Chaminade High School and Cum Laude graduate of The University of Dayton 1952, he served as disbursing officer in US Naval Reserve during Korean War. Matt was an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and camping and also, enjoyed playing the keyboard and entertaining at nursing homes. He was formerly involved in many church activities both at St. Luke and Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, where he was a lecture, Eucharistic Minister, member of the parish council, served in almost every area of Worship Commission and sang in the guitar group. Currently involved in the choir at St. Leonard Community in Centerville, OH. Visitation will be held, Friday, May 29th (TODAY), from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering 45440. Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Saturday, May 30th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leonard Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, St. Leonard's Faith Community
