Requarth, Harold W., 90 of Kettering, Ohio, passed away July 1, 2016, He leaves his wife Cherriann Requarth, daughter, Kathy Requarth Mount, son, David Requarth (Nancy), 3 granddaughters, Leslie Locke (David), Erin Requarth, Kelcey Requarth, one Grandson, Elliot Mount. He also leaves sister, Louise Pippenger, brother Charles Requarth and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was a graduate of Fairview High School and Ohio University. He served with the Merchant Marines in WWII after which he joined the Requarth Lumber Company. He served as President/CEO and Chairman of the Board during his 63 year career retiring in 2013. Harold was instrumental in the success of the Requarth Lumber Company. In addition, he spearheaded the development of three area Lumber Marts, as well as the Dayton Flameproof and Wood Preserving Company. He was well respected in the building material industry. Harold was active for many years with the Engineer’s Club of Dayton, serving on the Board of Governors and earning a lifetime membership. He was a member of TAU BETA PI as well as numerous volunteer organizations. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Dayton, Ohio, 45440. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 8th at Westbrock Funeral Home 5980 Bigger Road, Dayton, Ohio, 45440, burial following at Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Mark Carlson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice.
