"God is good!" On June 30, 2009, Helen was called home to her Maker. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and parents Olivia and Joseph Westendorf. Helen is survived by her daughter, Sister Carol S.C, and three sons, John (Carol), Dr. Daniel (MJ), Timothy (Cathy), sixteen grandchildren, Dr. Nancy Shaughnessy (Thomas), Patrice Hook (James), Kathleen Vail (David), Therese Reardon, Maureen Wald, Mary Bauder (Rob), Joseph Nealon, John Nealon (Jill), Madonna Beattie (Michael), Dr. Kelly Palm (James), Dr. Sean Nealon (Sherry), Bridget Canty, Colleen Kujala (Kimmo), Brian Nealon, Cara Habeck (Christopher), Dr. Erin Nealon (Jeff Susor), along with twenty-nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by two brothers, Joseph Westendorf and Jerome Westendorf (Pauline) and many nieces and nephews. Her volunteer activities included the Blue Army for which she made over twenty thousand rosaries. She also volunteered for over forty-five years in the Admissions Department of Good Samaritan Hospital. Helen enjoyed watching Notre Dame football, playing duplicate bridge, and participating frequently in local bridge clubs and tournament play. Helen was a loving Mother and Grandmother and will be missed by all: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7)." Visitation will be held, Monday, July 6th from 9:15 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Dayton.
