BENSMAN, Henry, 76, reached his eternal resting place October 4, 2018, after his 26 month journey of hope. He was a character of strength and determination and beat all odds for his diagnosis. Henry is survived by his wife of 53 years Bernadette (Bunnie); daughters, Stephanie (Shawn) Cleary and Christine (Ryan) Bruns; grandchildren Zach (Kimberly), Grant and Bailey Cleary, Chandler, Holden and Tripp Freeman, Colton and Nash Bruns; great-grandchildren Kinsley, Trendan, and Hadelyn Cleary; in-laws, Julie Baker, Roberta and Norm Eckstein, Patricia and Charles Ebeling, Norm and Nancy Orf; sister Bernadette (Anthony) Poole; loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and all his dear supportive friends. He was preceded in death by his infant sons Christopher and Stephen; great-grandson Brexton Cleary; parents, Wilbur and Margaret; sisters, Roberta and Jerrilyn and brother-in-law Norbert. Henry is a 1960 graduate of Chaminade High School, a 1967 graduate of East Texas State University and he retired from Heidelberg in 2000. The family would like to thank Dr. Lavelle and Melissa, Kettering Cancer Care and the outstanding staff at Hospice of Dayton for their compassionate care. Friends and family may visit from 4-7pm on Monday, October 8 at Westbrock Funeral Home, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am on Tuesday, October 9 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Parish, Springboro, with Fr. Jim Manning celebrant. Henry will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton and designated for the transfer system, “Sara Stedy”.
