Howard R. Reams, age 76, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 following an extended bout with cancer. Howard graduated from Chaminade in the class of 1957 and four years later graduated from the University of Dayton (UD). He is survived by his wife and first love, Marilyn (Zugelder) Reams after 57 years of marriage; his son, Richard and wife Paula; his daughter, Risa (Reams) Mays; his son, Robert and wife Bernadine, and son Randall. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Howard followed in his families heritage by working for NCR and retiring after 40 years of service. In retirement, Howard was a board member of the NCR REA and volunteered at Kettering Hospital for 12 years totaling 3875 hours of dedication to helping others. His passion for antique cash registers and other NCR memorabilia led to being one of the founding members of the Cash Register Collectors Club of Dayton Ohio. Howard's mass will be held on Thursday, September 8, 10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Church on 4500 Ackerman Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45429. The family will see friends 1 hour prior to service at St. Charles Borromeo Church. A traditional viewing prior to the mass and procession to the grave site is not planned. The immediate family will follow Father Dan to the burial site for a very brief ceremony. A gathering is planned at the household and everyone is welcome to stop by to celebrate Howard's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Howard's name, to Hospice of Dayton.
