James J. Burns

BURNS, James J. age 62 of Springboro passed away Tuesday July 29, 2014. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Ray E. Burns. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane of Springboro; a sister and brother-in-law, MaryAnn and Stephen Fitzsimmons; nephew Tony and wife Betty Fitzsimmons and their children Andrew, Liza and Liam; nephew Mark and fiancé Debbie (Bishop) Fitzsimmons and their son Stephen. Jim graduated from Our Lady of Mercy grade school, Chaminade High School and Bowling Green University. Jim was a loving, friendly, compassionate son, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend who loved traveling and adventures like water skiing, scuba diving in Australia's Great Barrier Reef, and hiking and camping in Colorado. Jim chose careers helping abused and troubled children and adults. Jim lived in Texas, Florida and outside Denver, Colorado in the mountains before returning to Ohio to care for his mother for the last 18 years. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am Saturday, August 9 at St. Mary's Church, 115 S. Main St, Franklin, Ohio 45005 preceded by a prayer service at 10:15 am at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton, Ohio. The family will receive friends Friday, August 8 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
