Age 64 of Springboro, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Sycamore Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1952 in Dayton to the late, John and Dorothy (Wurstner) Barstow. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Chrissy (Bonanno) Barstow; daughter and son-in-law, Amy (Andrew) Koval; granddaughter, Abigail Koval; siblings, Liz (Don) Raiff; Jack (Rose) Barstow, Bill (Connie Jones) Barstow and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim graduated from Chaminade High School before attending the Rochester Institute of Technology to explore his love of photography. He received his degree from the University of Dayton and continued to avidly follow the Flyer Basketball team. He enjoyed his yearly fishing trip to Bear Lake, Michigan with his brothers; teaching people how to enjoy finer wines; and celebrating a good meal with his family. A memorial mass will be at 10 am on Friday, April 29 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 115 S. Main St., Franklin with Fr. Jim Manning presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, in memory of Jim. Arrangements under the care of Westbrock Funeral Home.
