Ross, James E. "Jimmy", died peacefully on October 28, 2011 at Kettering Medical Center with family and friends by his side. Jimmy was born on January 12, 1938 to Rita and Frosty Ross. He was a student at Stivers and Chaminade High School. He was a member of the Antioch Shriners and a drummer for Pote's Little Symphony with the Shriner's. Jimmy was also a member of the Dayton Area Free Masons. He was the founder of The Jimmy Ross Quartet. He was a well-known drummer throughout the Dayton area and frequently played at the Colony Club and Black Knight. He was employed with Sharp Tools for many years. He was an avid drummer, fisherman, and golfer and was always ready to tell a good joke to make someone smile. He is preceded in death by his mother Rita Reuber, father Frosty Ross, step-fathers Louis "Dutch" Shearer and Woody Reuber, his wife Anna Ross, his dear friend Edith Ellis, two daughters Tracy Ross Sheehan and Robin Ross Taylor, and two sons James T. Ross and Rick Ross, all four children passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his grandchildren Lisa Ross Warnock (Luke), Jay Ross, Chris Ross (Michelle), Joel Ross, Bekah Ross Davis (Stephen), Karisa Ross Cromer (Jon), Lindsey Ross, Cory Sheehan, Christy Sheehan, Steven Taylor, Samuel Taylor, Timothy Taylor, Jonathon Taylor, and James Taylor, Natalie Taylor Klein (Jeremy), Chris Taylor, Briana Taylor Kleckler (Nick). He also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren-Elijah and Samuel Warnock, Annora and Aidan Ross, Ace Davis, Sophia Klein, Joe, Kaydee, and Emmett Kleckler. He also leaves behind his closest friend and brother in all ways possible Mike Breitenstein and wife Marlene. And numerous other family and friends. Jimmy always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell, or a laugh to share and will be forever missed by his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday November 4, 2011 at 7pm at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6666 Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Central Ohio ALS Association.
