FINKE, JAMES H., age 92 passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert and Rose Finke; wife, Armonde (nee Malone) Finke; sister, Virginia (George) Zahn; brother, Herbert (Rhetta) Finke and sister-in-law, Rita Finke. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Ruth Finke; beloved children: Kathleen Masenga, Nancy (Tom) Rambasek, Jacque (Mike) Coyne, Jim, Jr. (Suzanne) Finke, Chris (Melanie) Finke and Armonde “Amy” (Brian) Cook; 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brothers: Paul Finke and Tom (Betty) Finke; step-children: Woody McCally and Mary (Paul) Finnegan; 3 step-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of Miami Valley Country Club and Moraine Country Club. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a 1st Lieutenant in General Patton’s 3rd Army. Jim was a graduate of Chaminade High School, University of Dayton and Harvard Business School where he played basketball for UD and Harvard. Jim along with his brothers were the 3rd generation to operate The Finke Co. Visitation will be held Monday, September 29th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 30th at Church of the Holy Angels, 1322 Brown Street, Dayton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Angels in Education c/o Holy Angels or Dayton Foundation.
