Geile, James H., age 88, of Dayton, Ohio, died July 20, 2015. Jim was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 17, 1927, the only child of Sylvester H. and Clara A. Geile. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1945 and from the University of Dayton in 1950. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and in the U.S. Army 1950-1952. The majority of Jim's working career was spent as a chemist at the Duriron Co. (now Flowserve) where he had the extreme good fortune to meet Dorothy Frysinger, the lady who later was to become the love of his life, his loving companion, his best friend and his dedicated care giver. While at Duriron, Jim was also fortunate to meet a number of other good people who became friends who touched his life in positive ways. Jim retired from Duriron after more than 28 years of service to spend many happy days at Kitty Hawk golf course with a number of golfing buddies. He enjoyed bowling, was an avid golfer and took an interest in many sports. He was in particular a fan of open wheel racing, the Cincinnati Reds, UD Basketball and the NFL, Ohio State and Notre Dame football. He enjoyed Dorothy's company for any endeavor but especially church services, dining, movies, and flea markets. Although Jim's later years were without any true family of his own to mourn his passing, he does leave behind an assortment of good friends from his old neighborhood, school, work or golfing days and members of Dorothy's family who were so kind to "adopt" him as one of their own. The above was composed by Jim in 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 22 Notre Dame Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45404. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by The Westbrock Funeral Home. (
