James "Jim" Anthony Domin

DOMIN, James Anthony “Jim”, 79, passed away unexpectedly on 17 January 2018, one day short of his 80th birthday at Kettering Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on January 18, 1938 in West Hazelton, PA to Anthony Domin and Mary (Tomsho) Domin.
Jim graduated from Berwick High School in Berwick, PA in 1955. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army, serving two years in Ludwigsburg, Germany as a medical corpsman. Upon, discharge, he enrolled as a Business major at Tri State College in Angola, IN. His studies were interrupted when he was recalled to active duty during the Berlin Crisis, with a posting at Fort Sill, OK. He graduated from Tri State in 1964, and subsequently began a career in management for Inland Manufacturing, Division of General Motors. After 27 years, he retired from Inland in 1991. Never one to sit still for very long, he returned to work with Jamestown Industries until really retiring in 2009.
Jim married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Dubil, in 1961. They raised 3 children in Centerville, OH, sending them to St. Charles Borromeo School and Archbishop Alter High School. Jim was an avid fitness buff. Right up until the time of his death he regularly played tennis and hit the gym several times a week. He was an active member of The Knights of Columbus. He was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, and served as an usher for many years. He supported his children’s’ and grandchildren’s’ activities over the years attending many sporting events and theatrical productions. Once retired, he enjoyed the opportunity to travel with his family. Jim was gregarious, never meeting anyone he could not strike up a conversation with. He was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, boss and friend. He will be missed.
