MOHR, Dr., James J. age 86 passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. James (Jim) will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Mohr, and sons, Steve Mohr and Bruce Mohr, 3 grandchildren: Hanna, Megan and Jonathan Mohr. Jim is also survived by brothers, Jack (June) Mohr and Jerry (Marie) Mohr, brother-in-law, Robert Goubeaux and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years Mary Ellen (Alexander) Mohr, a daughter-in-law, Kaye Mohr, and sisters, Mary Mohr and Patricia Goubeaux. Jim was born on February 28, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio and was a lifelong Dayton resident. He was the son of Carl and Loretta Mohr. He spent two years at Fairmont High School and graduated from Patterson Co-op High School. He was a veteran of WWII having proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Catholic Youth Club where he served as President and Treasurer. After 6 years working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, he entered Lincoln Chiropractic College and in 1951 started practice in downtown Dayton and later moved his office to East Dayton. Jim was a Chiropractor in Dayton for over 40 years and was a member of the Miami Valley Chiropractic Association where he served as President, Secretary and Treasurer. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3730. He is currently a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and prior to that a long time member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Friday, December 21st from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville 45459.
