O’Brien, James age 86 of Kettering passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Jim was an Industrial Abrasives Sales Representative with 3M Company for 36 years. He was a 3-sport athlete at Whitefish Bay High School (WI), played football for Marquette University where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity. He also served as a Naval officer during the Korean Conflict in the Pacific. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Barry O’Brien, brother David O’Brien, and sister Margaret Vespalec. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn and four daughters and three son-in-laws, Colleen O’Brien (Bob Clegg) of Powell, OH, Erin O’Brien of IN, Maureen (Dan) Rojas of CO, Kerry (Martin) Smith of GA . Marilyn ‘s children includes Beth (Mike) Bruggeman, Claire (Dave) Rodehaver, John (Becky) Blust, and Mike (Niki) Blust. Jim is also survived by his sisters Sr. Rosemary O’Brien, SSSF of WI, Florence Ann Timm of WI, and brother John J. (Judith) O’Brien of WI and 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am on Monday, December 12 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00am Monday, December 12 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial, Calvary Cemetery.
