Schumann, James A., “Jim”, age 82 of Centerville passed away Wednesday January 6, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born to the late Arthur and Ruth (Rambicur) Schumann on December 5, 1938. He was also preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Grace Forney, and by his first wife of 24 years, Judith Pulskamp, the mother of his children who survive him, Mark (Teresa), Todd (Lin) and David Schumann. He is also survived by his current wife of 31 years, Martha (Marti) Leibold, and her children, Katrina (Mark) Caudill, Mark (Susan) Ernst, and Beth (Joe) Smallwood as well as 14 grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Forney, Rebecca Thurston, Ryan, Tyler, Lindsey, Katherine and Gwendolyn Schumann, Eva, Britt, and Caroline Caudill, Krista (Chris) Lausier, Lauren Ernst, Samuel and Elizabeth Smallwood; six great grandchildren, Sophia, Luke, Alyiah, Bailey, Charlotte and Callen. Jim is also survived by his brother, Thomas (Peg) Schumann and sister, Patricia (John) Richter along with many nieces and nephews. Finally, he is mourned by his faithful dog, Zeke, who has been by his side throughout his journey. We would like to thank the following people for supporting us the past 10 years—caregivers Marianne Kowalchuk, Senior Helpers, and Hospice of Dayton, along with extended family members and wonderful friends and neighbors. The journey could not have been made without you. Jim was an avid fisherman and musician, playing drums in several jazz bands and orchestras. He also enjoyed golf and gardening. He spent his working years in sales for various companies. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM Friday January 8 at the Church of the Incarnation. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
