Jeanne Geiger Fecke

FECKE, Jeanne Geiger, age 86 of Dayton passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Jeanne was born in Dayton to the late, George and Loretta (Kane) Geiger. Preceding her in death were siblings, Conan, Bill, Caki, Anita and Joyce. Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Frank Fecke; children, Joyce Billington (Sonny Hunter), Sheila (Jeff) Stutrud, Robert (Sue) Fecke, Erin (Floyd) Eldridge, Shawn Fecke, Laurie (Phil) Lange; grandchildren, Anna (Alonzo) Robinson, Frances (Jason) Rihm, Shannon Harrison, Bridget (Matthew) Quattrucci, William (Krysta) Fecke, Neva (Josh) Weiland, Patrick (Hannah) Eldridge, Kevin (Abby) Eldridge, Jessica Fecke, Jennabelle O’Malley, and Andrew, Monica, Justine and Alex Lange; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Connie and Barbara; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jeanne was a graduate of Julienne High School and attended Sinclair Community College. As a longtime Red Cross volunteer, Jeanne taught hundreds of people to swim. Jeanne worked as a reading tutor for the Dayton Public Schools system. In addition to swimming, Jeanne loved bird watching and filling her many bird feeders. Jeanne cherished her Irish heritage, loved sewing, drawing, writing poetry, and was a talented singer. Jeanne and Frank have been members of St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish for over 40 years during which time Jeanne served on the Hospitality Committee. Friends and family may visit from 5-8 pm on Friday, August 5 at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd, Kettering. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 6 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish followed by inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Jeanne’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Laurelwood Assisted Living and to Crossroads Hospice of Dayton.
