Connell, Jerald T., "Catfish", age 69, of Dayton, passed away Thursday May 17th, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was a proud graduate of Chaminade High School, the University of Dayton and Xavier University. He retired in 2000 from the Montgomery County Juvenile Courts after 34years, and most recently retired as a professor from Sinclair Community College. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas & Elizabeth Connell. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy & Joyce Connell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise & Scott Kreinbrink, Lorie & Charles Cassity; six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Joseph, Thomas, Aidan, Jake and Brennan; mother-in-law, Sylvia Grillot; a brother, James Connell; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathee & James Stevens; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Tuesday at St Anthony Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:30am at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 4-8pm at the funeral home.There will be a prayer service offered at 7:00pm, during the visitation, by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, John F. Kennedy Division. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the employees at Hospice and to his strong core of fishing, golfing and bike riding friends for all of the care, compassion, love and support shown to Catfish and his family during his six month fight with cancer.
