Jerome Vincent Butler

Butler, Jerome Vincent “Jerry”, age 88 of Centerville departed this life Sunday December 20, 2015. Jerry was a teacher and a counselor at St. John’s home for the boys in Brooklyn, NY. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton and served in the Marine Corp. He worked 41 years at Butler Heating Company, the last 10 years as president of the company with good employees who were more like friends. He was born March 17, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Lee and Margaret Butler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Butler-Hughes; brothers, Robert, Donald, Lee Butler; a sister, Virginia. Jerry is survived by his wife, Marge; a sister, Margie McAvoy; a sister-in-law, Rita Butler; children, Pam (Don), Mark (Kathy), Jan (Michael), Julie (Tim), Karen (Michael), Nancy (Bob), Mary (Kevin), Sue (Ken), Chuck (Ann Marie); eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM Monday December 28 at St. Francis of the Assisi. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis of the Assisi Church, envelopes available at the church. Arrangements by the Westbrock Funeral Home, Bigger Rd.
